Green Factory
Green Factory operates in the demanding Ultra Fresh segment, where product freshness and rapid forecasting are critical.
Excel-based solutions were no longer sufficient, so the company adopted Jedox tools together with Fellowmind to enhance planning and pricing. As result, the company has better transparency to data, faster decision-making, and minimized errors.
The Ultra Fresh segment requires fast reactions
Green Factory operates in the so-called Ultra Fresh segment, where food products are extremely fresh and move quickly from producer to end consumer. The company produces and packages salad and vegetable mixes as well as plant-based ready to eat meals.
In this segment, accurate forecasting is essential: Green Factory must react quickly to changes in availability while ensuring that products remain fresh throughout the supply chain. This makes the operating environment highly demanding, with an exceptionally fast-paced S&OP process.
As the Excel files grew larger (while doing the planning before Jedox), they became increasingly difficult to use, and integrating actuals into data platforms was not straightforward.
Jedox enables system-level planning short- and long-term
The chosen solution was the Jedox planning tool, implemented as part of the ERP implementation. The delivery included demand planning, production optimization, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management integration.
Jedox enables system-level planning for both short-term (6 weeks) and long-term (2 years) horizons.
The project progressed in phases:
- It began with a Proof-of-Concept to ensure Jedox met Green Factory’s needs.
- This was followed by workshops with key stakeholders to define processes and workflows.
- Based on these, the first version of the solution was developed, tested, and iterated together with the customer.
- The final go-live took place in December 2024.
- After rollout, regular review sessions ensured the tool worked as intended and that any issues were resolved quickly.
After the huge growth we noticed that the Excel was not enough. We needed more stable, more reliable tool.
Better visibility and scenarios to support decision-making
The new solution brought significant benefits to Green Factory. With Jedox, scenarios can be built, additional information can be used in planning, and data transparency has improved.
Moving away from Excel-spreadsheets also eliminated version control and maintenance issues. Integration with data platforms and the Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Supply Chain Management ERP-system is now seamless.
Pricing tool brings speed and automation to the quoting process
Collaboration with Fellowmind continued with the development of a pricing tool. In early 2025, Green Factory and Fellowmind extended the existing Jedox solution to enable fast pricing of Ultra Fresh products.
The tool intelligently sets consumer prices by automatically generating offers based on producer prices, margins, and other pricing factors.
The pricing tool went live in spring 2025. The development project followed the same model as the planning tool. Previously, Green Factory’s pricing relied on Excel files, with customer offers created manually.
This was time-consuming and prone to errors. With the new tool, the quoting process is faster, more accurate, and involves far less manual work.
Ongoing collaboration – next up: financial forecasting
The next phase of collaboration is to integrate pricing tool data with demand planning, enabling financial forecasting. This way, planning, budgeting, and pricing will come together to support even more accurate forecasting.
One of the things I learned the most from the Green Factory case was the fact that Jedox is not only used in financial perspective but also in very operational planning.
