Comfort
Comfort, a company specializing in HVAC, ventilation, electricity, and cooling, launched the "Fact-Based Working" project to move from intuition-based decisions to data-driven insights. Partnering with Fellowmind and Power BI, they implemented a BI platform, starting with a pilot group of five companies. The platform enables separate entities to access shared reports, providing valuable comparisons and performance insights.
A key benefit is the ability for each company to compare its performance to the chain’s average, revealing areas for improvement. The shared reports also encouraged harmonizing financial practices, as data input is necessary for accurate reporting. Comfort plans to expand the platform and further develop it to improve decision-making and efficiency.
Vald. Birn
Vald. Birn, a foundry company based in Holstebro, Western part of Denmark, consumes energy on the scale of a large Danish town. To optimize energy use and reduce its environmental footprint, the company launched a data-driven project in collaboration with Fellowmind, Inuatek, and the University of Southern Denmark. By collecting real-time energy and process data from its furnaces, machinery, and production equipment, Vald. Birn aims to make informed decisions that drive efficiency and sustainability.
This initiative marks a shift from optimizing individual processes to a holistic, real-time analysis of the entire production. Even minor process improvements can lead to significant cost savings and carbon reductions. The project leverages cloud technology and digital tools to empower employees in improving operations. By integrating diverse data sources into a unified platform, Vald. Birn strengthens its competitive edge while advancing its sustainability efforts.
Niras
NIRAS A/S, an international consultancy specializing in engineering, planning, and project management, is strengthening its data capabilities with Microsoft Fabric. To explore the platform’s potential, a team from NIRAS participated in Fellowmind’s Fabric Labs at Microsoft, gaining hands-on insights into its features and benefits.
Following this, NIRAS partnered with Fellowmind to implement and develop Fabric, integrating data sources, refining governance strategies, and optimizing reporting. This collaboration has improved data security, access control, and analytics, enabling NIRAS to make better data-driven decisions and forecasts.
